FAQ

Cleaning

AnZa White

Anza White has a non-porous surface that prevents dirt and stains from penetrating the material. Marks and stains stay on the surface and can easily be removed with a Scotchbrite® pad and household cleaner.

The brass tray and top plate will oxidize in contact with water /humidity. Use a brass polish (we recommend Brasso Wadding) to remove the oxidization and at the same time add a layer of protective polish to the metal. To minimise oxidization, wipe the tray and top plate dry after use

The wood trim on the front of the tray is treated to reduce water absorption. Wiping the wood dry after use and treating periodically with wood polish will preserve the natural beauty of the wood

AnZa Concrete

The concrete shell has been treated with a sealer to protect the surface. Due to its rough and porous surface the concrete will naturally develop a patina over time which will be impossible to prevent or remove. Wiping down areas of the shell which are in contact with coffee grounds and water will reduce the build up of patina. Please do not use a Scotchpad / Magic Sponge to clean your Concrete machine!

The drip tray is powder coated steel. Powder-coating is tough, but can scratch, so we recommend to not use ceramic cups with unglazed bases as the ceramic can scratch the powder-coating. Glass cups are recommended.

The top plate is easily cleaned with a damp cloth or a Scotchbrite® pad and household cleaner.

General

It is recommended to drain the water tank if the machine has been left standing for a while. Fresh water every time tastes best! The water tank can be drained by placing a container under the group head and running the pump as if pulling a shot. Run the pump for max. 30 seconds, then wait 15 seconds before running again. When the tank is empty the inside can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Keep the lid in in place to keep dust out!The group head should be cleaned by Back-flushing every 100 espresso shots with a cleaning product such as Urnex Cafiza E16. See the Back-flushing video on our "How to Maintain AnZa" page and the instructions in the manual that came with the machineIf you live in an area with hard water you should descale your machine once a month, locations with softer water will need less frequent descaling. Please see our descaling video on our "How to Maintain AnZa" page for the descaling process.
